Announcement re: posting links to bells for sale

To clarify the rules for the ABA website, we do not allow posting of links to websites for the specific purpose of buying bells. For instance, if you see a bell for sale on ebay or a fund raising site or a bell manufacturer's site and think others would like to know about it so they can buy it, too, we do not allow that and will delete the posting. The reason given to me when I became the Internet Coordinator was because it is not a goal or purpose of the ABA to provide free advertising. We do allow people to post that they have one or two bells for sale but we do not assist in selling collections.

Having said that, many bell manufacturers, repair services, and sales shops have excellent articles about bells included on their websites. We promote bell education so it is all right to post a link to an article that gives good information.

We just aren't in the business of helping businesses sell bells.
