Joseph Bernhard Bell

My church recently had to dismantle our steeple because of tornado damage. It had been built in about 1850. When we removed the bell, we discovered it was made by Joseph Bernhard in 1849. His name, address and year were part of the casting. There is a female figure cast into the opposite side of the bell. I have been unable to identify it.

I was able to find information on Berhnard. There is probably more than I have.

The bell, which measures about 32" X 32" and weighing just under 1000 lbs., was gifted to the church, Presbyterian at the time, by John W. Patton Esq. of Philadelphia. I have been unable to find an information about Patton.

Would appreciate getting the sources of any available information.
