Upright Search

Postby newfreedom57 » Mon Aug 31, 2009 7:58 pm

I am looking for an upright, crank & clapper for a cast iron bell marked "Baltimore Plow Co.". Additionally marked with the letters "BP" & "C". It is 17" an the bottom of the bell approximately 10 1/2" tall and the distance across the yoke (inside dimensions for the upright) is about 18 1/2". Please see attached photos! Thanks for your help.

Old replacement parts are scarce and it will probably take a long time to find them if you ever do. I'd let a good machine shop make either a pair of A stands or a one-piece upright, a rope arm, and a clapper. The steel ball should be about 3 1/2 inches in diameter. Worn places on the bell's interior will indicate where it should strike. Trademarked steel bells are seldom seen. Very nice!
