Winkworth bells

Can anyone tell me about Winkworth Bells? I have one from an old Ambulance in the UK. Have seen them on old cars. I have read references to Winkworth somewhere but a google search didn't help remind me of anything. Magazine articles, book references and anything in previous Bell Tower editions?
