ew vanduzen bell

We have and ew Vanduzen bell, stamped on one side with the name and buckeye foundry 1912. On the other side, the word "waterway" is stamped in the center. Family story is that my husband's great grandfather who was a lock master was given the bell. Any ideas what ship it came from?

Sorry but you have not given us enough information. I suggest you go to the "Frequently Asked Questions" section of the "Bell Talk" Forum and read the section about what information is needed in order for people to give you information about your bell. Please remember that the forum responses are all personal opinions of the writers and do not represent official information from the American Bell Association.

Also, what makes you think this is a ship's bell? This is where a picture of the bell would help.

Good luck!
