Watch a 1,000 lb. bell being poured TOMORROW!

Postby Carolyn Whitlock » Mon Mar 19, 2012 5:40 pm

This just in:

Tomorrow, Tuesday, March 20th, Verdin will be casting the 1,000 lb. bell for the World Choir Games. The bell is one of the signature symbols of the "Olympics of choir music," at the World Choir Games to be held in Cincinnati July 4-14. Hundreds of choirs of all ages and countries -- Africa, Asia, Europe, Australia, North America and South America --will compete over 11 days. The bell will be rung at the Opening and Closing ceremonies.

Join us via the web at approximately 2:50-3:00 pm EST for the bell casting (or when the bronze reaches 2200 degrees.)

Verdin designed the 2012 World Choir Games Peace Bell featuring four signature landmarks in Cincinnati. The bell will weigh 1000 lbs. and be 37 inches in diameter. The bell mold was created using a lost wax process and the bell will ring with the musical note "A."

Over the decades we've gained expertise in partnering with our clients--from conception to design, manufacturing, installation and service. As Verdin celebrates 170 years in the business, we remain committed to producing and standing behind the highest quality cast bronze bells, clocks, and towers.

This notice was forwarded to me by a New England Chapter member who received it via e-mail from Jim Verdin.
